Vacation to Cali
Well, I have been meaning to blog my trip to California last week, and now that I'm at home sick-I have time to do so!
I flew to El Paso on Saturday 6/28 and my cousin Danielle picked me up and we drove to see her folks in Phoenix. We went to a bar that night with my cousins after dinner with her fam at my favorite place-Carabbas. Then we got up and drove through the hot Nevada desert (116 degrees at one point) until we landed at her new residence in Aliso Viejo, CA. We spent the next several days shopping and unpacking as she only brought clothes. The couch arrived Wednesday as expected, but it was the wrong couch! Oh well. We celebrated all of our hard work by going to TGIFs for dinner and drinks.
We didn't get into bed until nearly 3am, then I had to wake up early to pick up Austin from the Orange County airport at 8:30am Thursday. We went straight to the beach to walk along the sand together!!!! It was beautiful! Then we headed back to Danielle's so he could see all of our hard work, grabbed our swim trunks and headed back out to a different beach for some all day fun! Since we were new to the area, we basically just stopped as soon as we saw signs for A beach. Unfortunately there were 10 flights of stairs to get down to the water-this wasn't so bad until we had to walk back up!!!!!
So after playing all day at the beach in the water and running along the sand, then up 10 flights, needless to say we were REALLY sore and sunburned until Monday! But it was worth it!
The rest of the weekend was for Austin and me, as this was part of our 3rd year anniversary! We spent all day Friday watching comedy central and sleeping. Then, as our last night there, we went out and accidentally stumbled upon a Latino bar which had Salsa dancing-what a blast! I highly recommend this workout to anyone! We flew home Saturday afternoon, landing 10pm Texas time. I spent all day Sunday asleep!
It was wonderful, and beautiful!!!! I can't wait to do it again!
