Last Days - detailed, not for the squeemish
Well several of you have already called, texted or emailed for an update, and since Josiah seems to be on everyone else's mind, and not just ours, I figured I better post an update before you get too antsy ;)
The News: Tuesday (4/5) we went to the Dr for our weekly checkup. We had gone in the week before and weren't surprised that I hadn't dilated as no contractions had been going on. However, I had been having braxton hicks contractions starting Sunday around noon, so we were hopeful that there was some movement this week. But to our (and the Dr's) dismay, still sitting at zero. Contractions continued until about midnight last night, and I haven't really had any today. Seems like he'll still be cooking for a few more days.
The Plan: If we don't go into labor in the next week, Austin and I will be heading back to the Dr's office for one last visit on Wed at 10:30am for a dilation check, sonogram and fetal heart monitoring to see if Josiah is strong enough for an induced labor. With the amount of kicking he's been doing, I'd say he'll be fine, me on the other hand...... So unless you get a text in the next 7 days stating we are heading to the hospital, be on the lookout for another update next Wed when we will have an induction date scheduled - this is not preferred because if I'm still at zero I will have to go into the hospital 12 hours early to take medication to soften the cervix before they even start to induce with a pitocin drip.
Your continued prayers are requested, and as soon as we have more info, I'll pass it along. Or my moms will if we are in the hospital :) If you want more info, or to just call and check in, feel free! Austin just got a new phone and is still enjoying playing with it everytime he gets a text or call.
